“The Finishing Touch”: Absolute Precision Through Honed Bores

The Torqmax features key quality characteristics. In a final machining process, its bores are precisely honed. This ensures that the one-piece Torqmax delivers the highest surface quality and meets the most demanding requirements for dimensional tolerance and geometric accuracy. This honing process results in a cylindrical surface geometry with remarkable precision and a smooth, cylindrical surface finish.

The advantages of honed bores are numerous:

  • Precise surfaces: Honed bores provide a precise and smooth surface that is essential for various applications.

  • Optimized dimensional and geometric accuracy of the bores

  • Surface treatment: The surface treatment achieved through honing improves the tribological properties

    • Durability: Honed bores extend the service life of components by reducing friction and wear.

  • Correction of geometric irregularities: The honing process corrects geometric irregularities such as out-of-roundness, waviness, or taper of the bore.

Optimized Nypatch® Coating Process for Permanent Screw Locking

The high-quality EN ISO 4762/DIN 912 12.9 screws are treated using a special Nypatch® process. In this process, several threads of the hex socket screws are coated with a complete layer of nylon in a 360° coating. This prevents the screws from loosening due to torsional oscillations and vibrations, and ensures that high clamping forces and torque transmission are maintained permanently.

The advantages of Nypatch® screw locking are numerous:

  • Nypatch® is applied to the entire circumference of the thread, keeping the screws centered and aiding in the alignment of the two halves of two-piece couplings.

  • Screws coated with Nypatch® can be loosened and retightened multiple times without any loss of holding force. This provides added convenience and offers cost benefits. With conventional thread lockers, such as thread adhesive, the product must be time-consumingly reapplied after loosening.

  • Nypatch® minimizes the risk of galling between stainless steel couplings and their screws caused by friction and heat at the microscopic level.

The finishing process ensures a high-quality surface coating

The combination of the wear-resistant, uniform surface coating achieved through the hot burnishing process and the final treatment with a special, highly corrosion-inhibiting naphthenic oil ensures a uniform, aesthetically pleasing, high-quality, corrosion-protected coating. In addition, this process ensures precise adherence to the exact dimensional tolerances of the one-piece rigid coupling.
