The spiral coupling Beamflex
Backlash-free beam coupling for encoders and servo drives
The Beamflex is made from a single piece. It gets its performance characteristics from 2 sets of multiple starting helical cuts. This design enables a high displacement capacity combined with a high torsional stiffness. The transmission behaviour can be adapted to the respective range of requirements thanks to the width and length of the spiral webs manufactured here. The Beamflex has a rearward rotation in the functional area as standard, so that shafts protrude into the interior of the coupling and can therefore be positioned close to the face while retaining the full misalignment capacity of the coupling.

Beamflex Servo: Ideal for highly dynamic servomotors
The Beamflex Servo (F series) works with two sets of triple-start overlapping slots, which emphasise increased torsional rigidity due to the short rotating length of the slots. This makes the Beamflex Servo ideal for the direct connection of servomotors in linear and positioning units.
Beamflex encoders for rotary encoder applications
By increasing the spiral length and starting twice, the Beamflex encoders (P series) combine very low restoring forces for minimal bearing loads with torsional rigidity values tailored to rotary encoder applications.
Balanced clamping hub design
The clamping hub designs of both coupling series are additionally balanced for high speeds. In addition to the high-strength aluminium version, the range also offers stainless steel couplings (-SS version) for vacuum and clean room applications.
