Modular torque limiter for high torques in conjunction with high speeds

The Securmax HeavyDuty overload clutch is ideal for applications with high torques and masses that also operate in high speed ranges. It has individual disengaging segments mounted evenly around the circumference. The torque is adjusted by changing the pressure of the springs of the respective segments via the adjustment modules attached to the front of the respective shift segments. Three alternative adjustable torque ranges are available for each clutch size. This range of transmittable torques is determined by the number of respective full-disengagement segments (MD).

Disengaging without residual torque

If the torque exceeds the value set in the application and an overload occurs, the balls come out of their seat and cause an axial displacement of the central pins of the disengaging segments. This immediate process completely disengages the output from the drive without any residual torque, which can continue to rotate freely until the transmission stops. Re-engagement takes place manually by exerting axial pressure on the pins of the respective shift segments. These disengaging safety clutches are available in three sizes for an adjustable torque range from 200 to 9.500 Nm.

For direct drives combined with an additional compensating coupling

For direct drives with shaft-shaft connections, the Securmax HeavyDuty range also includes a combined compensating coupling. Vibration-damping elastomer couplings or torsionally rigid multi-plate couplings are available.
