The Oldham coupling
Backlash-free, axially pluggable and modular cross-slide coupling
The Oldham coupling is ideal for precisely synchronised positioning tasks and for stepper motor applications. As standard, it consists of two aluminium hubs and a transmission disc made of acetal. This three-part design enables convenient plug-in assembly even in difficult-to-access installation conditions.

High radial misalignment capacity with low restoring forces
Their strength is the compensation of radial misalignments. This compensation is achieved by pure displacement movements between the hubs and the transmission disc - also known as the cross disc. For this purpose, the hubs are fitted backlash-free into the grooves of the transmission disc, which act as plain bearings. Due to the good sliding properties of the acetal material of the transmission disc, the radial restoring forces and thus the bearing loads are low. The Oldham coupling is also electrically insulating, has a low mass moment of inertia and is very compact. The aluminium hubs of the MOCT and MOST versions are additionally balanced.
Different designs: From light and compact to thermally stable and vacuum-compatible
In addition to the standard MOCT (clamping hub design) and MOST (set screw design) series, the Oldham coupling programme also offers compact versions for tight installation spaces in the form of the ZOC and ZOS designs. The GOC-SS series with stainless steel hubs is the choice for applications with special environmental conditions. Cross discs made of acetal, PEEK or Vespel (PEK, VES version) are available for vacuum or high-temperature applications.
