CD coupling

The composite disc coupling CD coupling

Unique disc pack made from a high-performance fibre composite material

The backlash-free CD coupling has a disc pack made from a high-performance fibre composite material in a unique design. This gives it a high torsional stiffness combined with a high universal misalignment capacity. The CD coupling is available in a single (version 6A) and double-cardanic design (version 6P). The CD coupling is primarily equipped with clamping hubs for backlash-free and friction-locked shaft connection - either in steel or lightweight aluminium.

Product features

  • Backlash-free torque transmission
  • High torsional rigidity
  • High misalignment capacity (depending on size, radial up to 1.9 mm, angular up to 3°)
  • Nominal torque range from 20 to 1,164 Nm
  • Bore diameters from 11 to 90 mm
  • Speeds of up to 17,000 min-1

Torsionally stiff, high misalignment options and for high speeds

The material of the disc pack gives the CD coupling electrically insulating properties, which are important for potential isolation. The disc coupling range covers a nominal torque range from 20 Nm to 1,164 Nm and is available for speeds of up to 15,000 rpm, depending on the version. The couplings are able to compensate shaft misalignments of up to 1.9 mm radially, up to 7.6 mm axially and 3° angularly.

2 clamping hub versions: Lightweight aluminium series A1C or with steel clamping hubs for an even higher torque range

The lightweight aluminium series A1C is the solution for dynamic servo applications with frequent changes in direction of rotation. Its innovative clamping hub design also enables large shaft diameters to be accommodated. Applications with high torque requirements are the domain of the version with steel clamping hubs.
