The elastomer coupling Jawflex
Backlash-free elastomer coupling enables damping of impact and torsional vibrations
The elastomer coupling Jawflex is predestined to effectively dampen vibrations and impacts due to the elastomeric element used. Thanks to their three-part design, they offer convenient axial plug-in installation. The flexible element is a spider made of Hytrel, which is mounted in the coupling halves with the concave receivers under slight, defined preload. This preload ensures that the Jawflex enables backlash-free torque transmission. The flexible teeth enable radial, axial and angular shaft misalignments to be absorbed. In addition, the spider provides an electrical insulation function thanks to the material used.
Product features
- Axially pluggable
- Backlash-free torque transmission
- Electrically insulating
- Vibration-damping
- Nominal torque range from 2 to 2,100 Nm
- Bore diameters from 3 to 80 mm
- Spiders in Shore 64D and 98A
- Aluminium hubs or nickel-plated steel hubs (HeavyDuty series)
Spiders in different Shore hardnesses
By selecting the Shore hardness of the elastomer core used, the stiffness factors and damping behaviour of the coupling can be optimally matched to the respective operating conditions of an application. The two Shore hardnesses 64D and 98A are available.
High-temperature-stable spider material
Thanks to the Hytrel spider material, Jawflex can also be used in higher temperature ranges of up to 120°C.
Different versions
In addition to the standard GJC (clamping hub version) and GJS (set screw version) series, the Jawflex range also offers compact versions for tight installation spaces in the form of the ZJC and ZJS versions. The GJT series with conical clamping hubs is the choice for applications with high speeds thanks to its rotationally symmetrical design. The Heavy Duty series with steel hubs is the choice for heavy-duty applications with high torques.
