Precision in multi-spindle CNC lathes

Production process optimisation in the form of time savings and productivity increases are playing an increasingly important role in modern CNC lathes. In order to fulfil this output performance, innovative machine tools have a corresponding counter spindle/tailstock combination in addition to the main work spindle. The first side of the workpiece is machined on the main spindle; the second side of the workpiece can then be machined and produced by a second upper turret by transferring it to the counter spindle. CD couplings with backlash-free clamping hubs are used to connect the drive to the counter spindle.

Safety clutches: Overload protection for machine tools

The backlash-free Securmax Servo overload clutches play a decisive role in torque limitation to protect work units in machine tools in the event of product collisions. For direct drives in these usually very fast-rotating tool spindle drives, the Securmax Servo in a disengaging design combined with backlash-free equalising clutches are the ideal overload protection.
