Drive components for stirring and mixing systems
In process engineering, the chemical industry, and plant construction, the safe, gentle, and efficient batch homogenization of mostly dry materials is the first step in any process chain.
Mixing processes in process engineering: Stainless steel is also in demand
Belt mixers are particularly suitable here due to their gentle operating principle combined with high output volumes and repeatable, consistent mixing results. Horizontal mixing spirals create counter-rotating product flows and a homogeneous fluidized bed without clumping in the respective mixing chamber. The agitator is driven at moderate speed with high torque.
In such mixing systems with high torque requirements, the Torqmax HeavyDuty rigid coupling is the ideal coupling solution. It is available for shaft diameters from 55 mm to 120 mm and can be mounted radially thanks to its two-piece design. The MSPC version features a groove for additional form-fit connection. The HeavyDuty version is made of steel and has a corrosion-protected burnished finish. The heavy-duty version is available for a torque range of up to 21,000 Nm. Step-bore variants for connecting different shaft diameters are also available on request. For mixing processes that must meet special hygiene requirements, the rigid coupling is optionally available in a corrosion-resistant stainless steel version.
Recycling processing in decompaction units: Heavy-duty applications are the order of the day
The heavy-duty shell coupling has a wide range of applications, from conveyor technology and the metal industry to sustainable processing technology and media-optimized agitators for industrial and process engineering. The couplings are used in high-torque recycling and waste processing plants. In these plants, shreddable media are first mixed and roughly processed in a decompaction unit via various process stages, then transported further by means of an eccentric screw, and finally reduced to a defined consistency and converted into an optimized, transportable form by a compactor. They also support the efficient stirring process, for example in the conversion of various organic raw materials for the production of biomethane.
Drive in powerful propeller drives: A task for rigid couplings with cone connections
They are needed to move forward, enable the enrichment of water with necessary oxygen, provide rooms with a pleasant climate on warm days, or are used for pumping and conveying various media – we are talking about propeller drives of all kinds. These versatile drive mechanisms have radially arranged blades, the number of which can vary from application to application.
