Due to the speed, controllability and precision characterising them, modern servo motors operate in various applications, such as machine tools. To protect against possible product collisions, Securmax servo backlash-free overload clutch ensure a precise and reliable torque overload protection in the drive train. The backlash-free torque limiters are available with progressive or degressive springs for immediate, direct separation in case of minimal overload.
The product range includes models with adjustable overload torques up to 1,200 Nm. Backlash-free torque limiters can be combined with different self-aligning couplings for additional shaft displacement compensation. Torsionally flexible, vibration-damping elastomer couplings or torsionally rigid, steel disc or stainless steel bellows couplings are available for this purpose.
The disengaging safety couplings from the Securmax Servo series feature a degressive disc spring arrangement for an immediate torque decrease. In case of overload, an immediate input and output separation occurs. As a result, the rotational energy stored can run free, with the disengaging safety coupling remaining unlocked. The torque transmission is brought into operation when the coupling is re-engaged manually or by means of the appropriate device.
